What a great weekend at the Scottsdale dog shows. The weather was great and the competition in the Ridgeback ring was fierce! There were so many wonderful dogs in attendance – the judges had their work cut out for them. The #1 Ridgeback, Ikaika, was there as well as a lot of other “out of state” dogs who made the trip to this show.

Friday was a GREAT day for Breeder/Owner/Handlers, Donald and Kathryn Blumenfeld-Jones of KaKily Ridgebacks. Shaka (CH KaKily Shockwave of Pumamere-Coprdg, JC RN) , being expertly shown by Donald as always, won Best of Breed and Dina (CH KaKily Starry Night of Pumamere-Coprdg, JC RN) won Best Opposite Sex with Kathryn. What great wins for both of them! Dina went on to win BOS on Saturday and Sunday as well.

Monday was a banner CopperRidge Day! Not only did Coby strut his stuff in the Veteran class to resounding ringside applause, but his offspring were victorious in their classes. Sebastian (a Coby grandson) was awarded Best of Winner’s and a 4 point major. Jessie (a Coby granddaughter) received Winner’s Bitch honors and a 4 point major. Dina (a Coby daughter) won BEST OF BREED. Way to go!!! We are so PROUD of our owner-handler, Kathy Richards (with Sebastian) and Breeder/Owner /Handler Kathryn Blumenfeld-Jones (with Dina)!

New to the ring this weekend was Kazi, a sister to our girl Kirbi. Our daughter Aura showed Kazi and she looked like an old pro. Aura also showed Kibo (littermate to Sebastian and Jessie) all weekend and he looked great! Kibo was awarded Reserve Winner’s Dog on Friday – good job Kibo!

We want to thank ALL of our puppy-people who came out on Sunday to watch Coby in Veteran Class and help us celebrate his 10th birthday. We really appreciate all of your support and we are looking forward to seeing our “up and coming” puppies in the ring very soon!!!

Next show will be in Tucson – March 21 and 22. We are keeping our fingers crossed for Sebastian and Jessie. They may be our new champions – Sebastian only needs 1 more point and Jessie needs just 3.
